1.) A. Naive (adjective) - showing a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment.
B. Naive people are hard to understand because they never make sense.
C. I have lack of experience because I'm a kid, so I really don't understand how the world works.
2.) A. Niche (noun) - Your position in the world, or where you belong
B. People's niche are where they belong, so where they feel the most need.
C. My Aunt's position in the world is to be a doctor, so she is always working.
3.) A. Obliterate (verb) - To destroy or to wipe out
B. The dinosaurs were obliterated, so they were destroyed.
C. The dinosaurs were wiped out, so now they are extinct.
4.) A. Gratify (verb) - give someone pleasure or satisfaction.
B. I gratify my mom when I get good grades, and when I get student of the month.
C. Even though I did not get all a's on my grade card they were still good, so my mom was satisfied with them.
5.) A. Infinite (adjective) - Unlimited
B. Numbers are infinite, so they never end.
C. Space never ends, so we can not measure or calculate it.

11.) A. Embody (verb) - Be an expression of or give a tangible or visible form to an idea, quality, or feeling.
B. My cousin loves his cat, so he embodies her.
C. My grandma always say to embrace your dreams.
12.) Exasperate (verb) - Irritate intensely
B. Since my brother exasperates the teachers he gets in trouble.
C. I kept irritating my grandma, so she got mad.
13.) Fiasco (noun) - A thing that is a complete failure
B. My project was a fiasco because it kept falling a part as I was presenting it.
C. My project was a complete failure, and I got a bad grade on it.
14.) Garnish (verb) - To decorate or embellish something, especially food.
B. All the food was garnished because it was so delicious.
C. On Thanksgiving day my family devoured the food, and there was none left.
15.) Heritage (noun) - Property that is or may be inherited
B. If you inherit land, then you got heritage from someone.
C. When you inherit land then you got land passed down from a family member.
November 29 - December 2, 2016
16.) Plate (Noun) - The sub-layers of the earth's crust that move, and cause earthquakes, volcanoes, mountains and oceanic trenches.
B. In the Subduction zone one of the plates go under the other, and this can cause earthquakes.
C. The plates are always moving, and are causing volcanoes and mountains.
17.) Ring of Fire (Noun) - Ring of volcanoes around the Pacific ocean
B. Since volcanoes and earthquakes occur in the same place there is also a ring of earthquakes here.
C. The ring of fire is a subduction zone that goes all the way around the Pacific ocean, and the Pacific plate is being destroyed as it goes under the South American plate.
18.) Pangea (Noun) - all current land masses, believed to have been in existence before the continents broke apart during the Triassic and Jurassic Periods.
B. Pangea was when all the continents were together, but then they drifted apart which is known as the continental drift.
C. The continents drifted apart, and now are moving an inch per year.
19.) Fault (Noun) - A deep crack between two plates
B. Earthquakes occur around faults, and there are many in California.
C. The fault goes all the way through the plate, and causes huge cracks that form earthquakes.
20.) Isostatic Rebound - The rise of land masses that were depressed by the huge weight of ice sheets
B. Isostatic rebounds were created during the last glaciel period, and they are still on earth from a million years ago.
C. The isostatic rebounds were formed by glaciers pushing the land up, and causing large land masses.

21.) Sympathy (Noun) - Feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else's misfortune.
B. When Kailee's dad died I had sympathy for her.
C. I have sympathy for my mom because she has to do things on her own.
22.) Empathy (Noun) - the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
B. I had empathy for what my friend was feeling when her parents got divorced because the same thing happened with my parents.
C. My mom said to try and embody their pain, and she meant to put myself in their shoes.
23.) Apathy (Noun) - lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern.
B. I had apathy for the presentation because it was boring.
C. I had apathy for the homework because it was hard and boring.
24.) Connotation (Noun) - An idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning.
B. I told my friend that she was a snake becuase she is sneaky, so I was using connotation.
C. When my sister lied to me I told her that she was a dog because she disgusted me.
25.) Denotation (Noun) - The literal or primary meaning of a word, in contrast to the feelings or ideas that the word suggests.
B. My brother used denotation when he said that the animal was a dog because he used the literal meaning.
C. When I said the dogs were laying by the warm fire I used denotation becuase I used the literal meaning of the word warm.
